Having some fun with the new Sub-Surface Scattering model in Arion 1.5.1. Frosted glass with mapped SSS, relatively low coefficient and 0% asymmetry.
This beeswax material was achieved using a single BSDF layer, featuring all the improvements that have been added to our material system recently. An average coefficient value and pure isotropic scattering (asymmetry=0%) were used to achieve this result. Model from: http://www.artec3d.com.
Here’s a porcelaine bowl of raspberries rendered in Arion 1.5 Beta. The bowl and the raspberries feature sub-surface scattering. This image makes use of the brand new RandomControl BSDF model which has 0% energy loss and delivers a perfectly seamless transition all the way from mirror to lambertian. Note the purity of whites in this render, even at grazing angles, which was not quite possible to achieve before for mid roughness materials.
